Brother Love

Museum and Zoo

If you are ever in Chicago, you should check out if any museums are free! Great way to enjoy the city but not have to spend too much money to take the family there. And if not, the Lincoln Park Zoo is always free.

Here are some pictures from the Museum of Science and Industry and the Zoo:

2nd Annual Train Ride

Grandma and Grandpa Hufford's street has a yearly party with a motorized train. Timothy recently saw these pictures and couldn't stop talking about when he'd ride the train this year.

From Last Year:

Weeks before his second time on the train, he talked about how he was going to ride on the blue train after vacation. Once he told me he didn't want to go on vacation but would rather ride on the train. And every bit of the train lived up to his expectations. This year, they even let him ride the tain alone!

Tim is saying, "woo woo," as he passes by.

Riding alone with his cousin!!

Cayden 4mo!

Am I allowed to call my baby boy a doll? 'Cause he's just the sweetest little thing going on right now! Still such a bright spot to my good and bad days. Give him just a smile or sweet words, and he'll charm the pants off of you. :) His laughter is contagious - lately he just laughs and laughs when we "fly" him through the air.

Each day he's getting better at moving around and grasping for items. Today, he almost ripped my lunch plate off the table and Tim was teaching him how to "text" on his play phone. (oh dear...) I'm not long for the "I can't leave you on a blanket anymore" world 'cause he just wants to GO! He's even trying to pull his knees up under his bottom! (what?!) And I used to think he was a chatter box; no no no, NOW he's a chatter box. I can imitate sounds he's making and he just keeps "yelling" with me.

Down to the 4mo specks:
*Weight: 16lbs 0.8oz
*Length: 26.5"

His length is getting ready to push him into 6-9mo clothes if the feet are enclosed, and his weight is getting ready to pull him out of the 15lb fuzzi bunz we have been using.

And for the most important part: pictures!

I quit facebook...

...at least for now.

A few weeks ago, a friend mentioned that she doesn't have facebook anymore because she was wasting time checking it. I thought, "That's so silly. I totally manage my time on it." Well...as I checked facebook again and realized that only four new things had updated and I was waiting for someone else to add something to facebook, that I was addicted. Boo...

I realize the benefits of keeping up with distant friends or the ability to see family and friends' kids through facebook.

But for me, I was just wasting my life away on there. Most of the people I'm "friends" with are more acquaintances. And here I am feeling like I don't have enough time in the day, but I'm looking at random people's pictures or getting upset about status updates. I already feel like I'm a bad friend to my close friends...and just had to come to a point where I say, 'I just can't be everybody's friend.' And I'm hoping this makes me better for picking up the phone or sending out an email to be more personal with those I care about.

Please do not hear me saying that you shouldn't have facebook. You are probably better at managing your time than I am.

I feel like I'm going through some kind of rehab though. Multiple times throughout the day, I think, "Oh, I'll write about that for a status update." And then I remember...I don't have facebook. I get on the computer and get ready to type facebook.com before I remember...I don't have facebook.

For now, I've just deactivated my account, not canceled. I've noticed I do have a little more time for reading or folding clothes or my kids. But it's amazing how much time you can devote to email and blogs and group deal sites. I'm still working/struggling through it. And I need to get some birthdays off of facebook before it's "gone."

So funny to see people's emails or texts on my birthday saying, "I can't find you on facebook, so Happy Birthday!" :)

If you need me, call or email. I miss you too.

Champs!

I have some little champs!

Our first dental visit back in March did not go well. But today, Timothy went all by himself to get his teeth cleaned. As he would say, he was so brave. And they were fantastic with him! Tickling his teeth and showing him all the tools before using them on him. He went home with a bag full of useful and fun goodies (new toothbrush, floss, toothpaste and some pretty cool motorcycle toys).

And while in MI, Cayden (3.5months) rolled 360*! Still such a social butterfly, so chatty and smilie.
