Timothy is Three

Three years ago I held my first born in my arms, the first night we snuggled with him.

And tonight, I snuggled him (just a little cause it's "too tight mommy"), kissed him, and wished him happy birthday one more time.

We've been talking about and getting ready for today to come by talking about it and preparing decorations and food. (Yesterday started annual festivities of breakfast and a visit to the radio station. Last Year.) And today has been very rewarding to see SO MUCH excitement from my three year old.

When he woke up, I said "Happy Birthday!" which led to him asking me if it was February 9th and if he was three. Yes and yes. :) The morning was a sweet time with just our boys, and the construction duplos (legos) were a hit. He played with them for quite some time before screaming erupted at the arrival of the Hufford grandparents. Screaming! Then, running back and forth...still screaming.

We enjoyed brunch a small brunch party where we ate too many cinnamon rolls and the kids played (forgot to do the craft...ooops). It concluded with a 2.5hr nap. And the afternoon was spent chilling and Zingo Bingo and Skyping with family.

This evening he was up, speaking loudly, "Mommy and Daddy, I'm sleeping." We are blessed beyond our wildest dreams to have Timothy in our lives.

Cayden 9mo!

2/24/2013: He's our "tiny" baby, but the shirt makes him look chunky. :)

Well, it's been a whirlwind of a month. Long story short, that second ear infection from last month resisted any medications for the infection - this led and ENT visit and confirmation that he would need tubes. Everything went great, thankfully, and we have a follow-up this week. He seems much happier and is sleeping better and better every day. (The thought of anesthesia and my baby together was scary, but the day of the surgery I felt much peace and no anxiety - I can only attribute this to the Lord. Thanks to those who prayed for our family.) He's still around 19lbs with loosing weight from being sick and then gaining it back this last month. And he's around 29" long.

Cayden has tried a few new foods this month like more dairy products, wheat (his pinchers are full at work), blueberries, turkey, ham, rice (maybe from last month?), red peppers...that's all I can think of.

And I'm wondering if he's ever going to really crawl. He's so fast in army crawl, and he prefers that over getting up on all fours! Our doctor isn't concerned since a third of babies will walk before they crawl. Who knew! And sometime this month he learned to sit from a belly position. I think he only gets in the crawl position to sit up. :)

He loves pulling up to a standing position at his brother's train table. Too bad this is super frustrating for his brother since that's the "safe" place to keep toys he doesn't want Cayden to get. Another favorite standing place is behind chairs, usually Tim's. :) And this past week he squirmed all the way through a tube.

And I almost forgot - teeth! His second tooth came on his 9mo birthday. However, the picture below is of the one tooth that roamed solo for so long.
