We searched and searched for a name with meaning that we felt fit with our little boy to come. He was strong enough in the womb to physically hurt me and seemed like a very active child. So Cayden, heart of a warrior, was perfect. Then, those first few months, he was super chill. Just happy and calm.
More of that feisty spirit is starting to come out now. He started grunting when he doesn't like things and, even with trying to teach him some sign language, cries when he wants "more" solid foods. On the solid foods note, he's doing great! He loves holding a separate spoon while I feed him and desperately tries to hold a sippy cup on his own! Maybe he gets a few sips of water ever once and awhile. And he's tried many fruits and veggies and even chicken. One magic piece I've found during dinner, I give him a Baby Mum to eat/gnaw at in his high chair so that I can enjoy my meal. No teeth yet.
Cayden says words like, "baba, ah-ba! gaga, dada, yaya." And he loves shaking his head "no" though I don't think he knows what that means...yet. :) He's getting more aware of being left alone and sometimes cries. And he doesn't like driving in the car when it's dark.
He's getting really good at going from a sitting position to his belly. The crawling is probably coming in the next month or so (not sure if our hardwood is making that harder), but he squirms around to places/toys he'd like to go. And he loves reading, so shall I say eating the books we are trying to read. (This is a bit frustrating to Timothy.)
