Besides trying to convince you that having a third child has been amazing, I have made a couple purchases that have been "invaluable." Sharing is caring. ;)
Coveredgoods: I CANNOT say enough about how wonderful this has been. I was initially drawn to this as I've never found a good cover while nursing. Either my stomach or back is exposed which made me feel uncomfortable. Solution? Coveredgoods! This completely covers your front AND back and is the softest fabric. And then...wait for it! It's everything else - a cute scarf, a cover for your carseat, and a shopping cart cover! I love spicing up a simple outfit with my cover, or I've loved covering Rylie's carseat up when it's been windy out, too sunny, or even to give her a better sleep if we are out and about. Please, do yourself a favor and grab one of these! And they just came out with new prints. There's a dreamy Rose Quartz one that is calling my name...
Con: In those early weeks when you are getting settled in with nursing, it can be difficult to see your baby while nursing with this cover because of the material. This is no longer an issue (and was only a problem in the first three weeks).
Milkies Milk-Savers: Any nursing mom needs this! And I wish I had been the genius who thought of Milkies. Imagine saving all the milk that typically stores in your nursing pad and collecting it for later use. Yes, it's real. And within just a couple weeks of using this, I had collected over 30oz of milk by pretty much existing. (That's what?! $120 worth of breastmilk these days!)
Only con here: I mostly only used this for a month or so before my body began to regulate production.
Born Free Nightlight: I would say this is the most used of the ones mentioned in this post and the least expensive. Win win! I use this for every overnight feeding. This little night light clips onto my bra and has a very soft blue light - just enough light to keep baby awake but not too much where they can't settle back down after eating. I love the timer feature, and you can set if you'd like 5, 10, 15, or 20min for the time. It also has a vibration setting; I imagine this is incase you dose off during those night nursings.
Con: That vibration is LOUD at night! Haha!
Pocket Nanny: This was the only product I did not purchase; it was a gift for our second child. Think timer for...well, everything. It keeps track of four times - diaper, feedings, sleeping, and has an extra timer for whatever you'd like. You can lock the timer if you have a little toddler who'd like to push the buttons. It's nice and small and has a clip feature. I've had sleepy babies in those first weeks (no complaining here!), so I liked having this to remind me how long it had been since they'd eaten. There is an option of a blinking red light to remind you to feed at a set time. You can also keep track of which side you last nursed on. It can also be a night light; although, I never remember that and haven't used it for that.
Personal Con: For me, this was only a first couple weeks product. I think if I'd had this with my first, I would have used it religiously. I used it more with my second than I have with my third. Depending on your personality, you may use this more or less.
Sweet 'n Swag Moccasins: Okay, some of you will think these are frivolous. That's okay. But these little babes don't always have their feet covered by clothing, and we all know that socks NEVER stay on! Hence Moccasins! In the midwest, we will have cooler temps almost through June, so these just slip on and actually stay ON! And they are adorable!! They have new colors as well for both genders. I just bought my second pair for our littlest and cannot wait for them to arrive.
Con: As with any shoe, your child will grow out of these. :(
