Loving the Summer

Can't figure out if we are really loving the summer or just loving our new location. And I feel the urge to write here lately. No obligations to read just enjoying this outlet.

Top 10 Favorite "Summer" Things to Do:

10. Eden's Park within walking distance where T loves to watch all the big boys
9. Sticking my feet in the pool while T plays, rather drinks the water and tries getting in and out
8. Mr. T riding the tricycle on the patio
7. Play Groups
6. Obsessive amounts of grilling out. Let's just say we bought 80lbs of charcoal. We might die young but happy. :)
5. Story and folk music time at The Mighty Twig (library).
4. Bible study outside and T playing with Ms. Becca
3. Visitors from all over - TN, OR, IN
2. The beach...the beach! (or lake and don't love the sandy bottoms)
...and...
1. Exploritorium - Just go. *BOGO on Friday

Our Flower Garden (Update)

All the enjoyment with none of the work. We moved in, and these are in the backyard.

The Dreaded Wisdom Teeth...

For many years, my dentist said that I did not need to get my wisdom teeth out. So, I thought maybe, just maybe, I was a lucky one. Back in May, I found out the only lucky thing for me was that I only had three wisdom teeth, BUT all three needed to be removed...pretty much asap as they warned (I think to scare me) that I may loose other teeth if I didn't.

After two oral surgeon consultations, I was set for surgery. I think this was the most nervous/anxious I've ever been about anything. In part, this was due to the fact that I had previously thrown up once waking from ear surgery, and I have a tendency to pass out when it comes to needles (I was going under for the extraction).

The surgery went well (from what I remember, hehe), and I didn't throw up. I was just really cold. E says that when he came over to meet me in recovery, I was wide-eyed and zoned out.

While I did a lot of sleeping and little eating (I kept throwing up once I got home), I had a rockstar team supporting me. My family came in to help with Mr. T and, boy, was this such a blessing to him and to us. He got lots of time at the park, a trip to the Exploritorium, music at the library, and probably too much attention. But hey, that's what family's for! No, seriously, we could not have done it without them. They were such a blessing to E and I who got more time to spend with one another watching lots and lots of Friday Night Lights. And I loved when everyone (minus T) came in and sat on the bed and played a mystery game.

And E was the best caretaker. He constantly checked in on me or vegged with me. It was the best experience that I could have hoped for. I'm so grateful for such a caring husband.

Good fireworks (Nashville still beats for live fireworks) and nothing can beat walking down the ramps after the game and seeing 100s of fireworks set off by cities and neighborhoods and your average Joe. :)

Happy 1st of July!

I love July for many reasons. It's finally officially summer here! They're even calling for 90s today, and I don't mind. July has my favorite holiday - THE 4TH!! I love the cookouts and fireworks and the occasional Sox game! And most importantly, it's my husband's birthday month! Woo! (I love birthdays, too.)

Not too much has been happening since the move. Yes, I know, I gotta get pictures up of the new place. We're 95% unpacked and even have paint samples on the walls. Yay! Mr. T has been loving the outdoors whether it's at the "beach", our kiddie pool, playgrounds, he's in! And I have a love/hate relationship with his adventurous spirit. I love it cause he's so willing to go anywhere, but I dislike it cause he wants to go everywhere. Even yesterday after a frazzling trip to Whole Foods, I was carrying him, his bag, pizza, and brown paper bag to our house from the car. He was trying to escape up our neighbors stairs and as I was running after him, the paper bag broke...that's the hate part of this chaos.

Hopefully, I can be better about posting pictures for the grandparents this month.

California Part 2: At Sea (finally)

It had to be almost a month ago that I posted Cali land pictures. But as promised, here are the "at sea" pictures.

Our Homes

"The walls don't make our memories, that's just where we made them. We get to take our memories with us." -My husband.

House #1: Downtown Studio Apt. Living
*There's just something magical about your first place together as a married couple.
*We loved having our college friends over since we only lived a block away from our alma-mater.
*And who doesn't love being in the thick of everything downtown?!
*We had a rockin' homemade loft bed to increase our space.
*Fights had to be dealt with head on because the only other door besides the front was the bathroom. :)

House #2: The Moldy Place
*Not many positives since we were only there for two months due to mold.
*We found out we were expecting (unexpectedly)!! :)
*We picked and had this place painted (pre-move in) with some of our favorite home colors.

House #3: Friends AND a still City Living
*We had and made wonderful friends in the building and close by.
*Finally a place we could cookout! (And the Bains gave us a free Weber grill. Needless to say, my husband was a very happy man.)
*Still close to our first date and proposal location with a fantabulous bakery.
*Closer to our church and church friends and small groups.
*The home we brought our baby home in.
*Most importantly: A one bedroom!
*Newly renovated kitchen and bathroom! Beautiful!

House #4: Not the City...but still Close Enough
*Express train for riding into work
*Mr. T has his own bedroom (which means mom and dad do, too).
*So much natural light. Only when it's after 8:30p do we need lights on.
*A fenced in backyard! We never thought that was possible with renting.
*Free laundry in the basement (which we can access from the inside).
*Even closer to our church and closer to more friends

We're thankful that we found this place randomly and that the Lord has bless us more than we could have expected in this move. We look forward to having friends and family here! With our love, The Huffords
